Loren Cannon, head of the FBI’s Portland division in Oregon, has a word for those who do believe that arsonists are setting fires on the West Coast: It’s not happening, he insists.
After stumbling upon multiple reports that arsonists are being arrested in conjunction with some of the fires being reported in California, Oregon and Washington, Cannon issued a statement claiming that his agency has looked into the matter and come up with no evidence of malfeasance.
“FBI Portland and local law enforcement agencies have been receiving reports that extremists are responsible for setting wildfires in Oregon,” he stated. “With our state and local partners, the FBI has investigated several such reports and found them to be untrue.”
Cannon seems to be siding with the position of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is blaming “global warming” and “climate change” for the uptick in fires recently that has left millions of acres of the Golden State ravaged and charred.
“The debate is over around climate change,” Newsom announced while standing in front of a smoky wasteland of burned trees and shrubs. “Just come to the state of California. Observe it with your own eyes.”
Newsom and Cannon apparently missed the multiple memos, aka news reports, about the many arsonists all across the West Coast that have been arrested in recent days after getting caught intentionally lighting fires in moisture-deprived areas.
In southern Oregon, for instance, 41-year-old Michael Jarrod Bakkela was arrested and charged with two counts of arson, as well as 15 counts of criminal mischief and 14 counts of reckless endangering, after he was caught setting a fire in an area that has already been burning due to what has been dubbed the Almeda Fire.
Sammy Piatt, 53, was also arrested in Clackamas County, Oregon, after he lit a pile of leaves on fire near the Community Solutions building.
Jeffrey Alan Acord of Washington State was also arrested after being accused of setting fires along Highway 167. Acord, it is important to note, is a regular “protester” who attends Black Lives Matter (BLM) and anti-police rallies in Seattle.
The list goes on and on, and while not all of the wildfires blazing across the West Coast were started by arsonists, some of them were and the FBI apparently refuses to acknowledge that. Instead, the federal agency would prefer to reject that narrative in favor of Newsom’s climate change version of events, which is a whole lot more politically correct.
At some point, though, there will be no denying that this country has a serious problem on its hands with the likes of BLM and Antifa roaming the streets destroying property, assaulting people, and now starting fires in some of the driest regions of the country.
“The simple reality is that Antifa and BLM are, in fact, committing arson attacks,” reports The Hal Turner Show. “FBI should get with that reality, fast. On second thought, maybe it’s time for FBI Portland to get a new SAC (Special Agent in Charge). Unless, of course, the FBI actually works for Antifa.”
Commenting on The Hill‘s reporting about Newsom’s claim that global warming is to blame for the wildfires in his state, one user corrected him by noting that improper forest management, which is a very serious problem in the Golden State, might actually be the true culprit.
“When it rains too much, your dams burst and when it’s summer, your forests burn,” wrote another. “What’s over is if you are a good governor; that’s a hard no.”
